The Kitchen Sink Show

"The Kitchen Sink Show" arrived at Whitgift School on Friday 26th September 2008 and took our very own year 7 students on a journey around the kitchen. Year 6 students from the Willows, Wybers Wood, Littlecoates, Macauley, Great Coates and Laceby Acres Primary Schools also had the opportunity to experience the show.

The show saw numerous students arrive and get involved in the excitement. It opened up a world of science fun with its curious, messy, slimy world full of the materials and objects of everyday life.

The experiments used inexpensive and everyday materials, familiar to the children and often end up in the rubbish bin. It involved expanding marshmallows, turning Ribena into water and milkshakes, firing sponge rockets and scoring points if the students hit the staff and teachers! There were loads of topics covered which the students will meet again during their science lessons. Judging by the shrieks and laughter coming out of the theatre all day the show was a great success and I'm sure it will be back to visit us again next year.
