Whitgift Students take to the stage in Aladdin!
Following on from the success of Joseph and his Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat the students and staff involved all worked extremely hard to make Aladdin just as enjoyable, giving up many hours to produce an entertaining show.
Many of the students enjoyed the experience of being involved in Joseph that they were keen to audition for Aladdin. Michael Thorndike was cast as Aladdin said he "really enjoyed rehearsals, Aladdin has been brilliant". Among the many wonderful characters Andria Dale played Jasmine and Danielle Stark portrayed the Genie. For many of the students this was their first time on stage not that you could tell!

The cultural faculty did a great job in sourcing the fabulous costumes, numerous students commented on how ‘wonderful their costumes were'. All the students involved gained invaluable experience, worked and supported each other - a great team effort! The show was well received and enjoyed by many students and parents.
Rehearsals are now well underway for the Summer Production which will take place towards the end of July. However, on March 7th the students had the opportunity to show case a piece of the forthcoming production when they were invited to participate in the Willows 40th year celebration, organised by the Ward Councillors. The audience were treated to a sample of what is to come! As reported in the Evening Telegraph they performed along side some local professionals including singers Trevor Green and John Denford and comedian Gary Skynner. Information regarding the next show will be given nearer the time.
