| Aim Higher In October, some of our Year 9 and Year 11 boys attended an event at the Beachcomber,Humberston, entitled ‘What's the decimal point of it all?' where they learned about the relevance of Maths in the workplace. |
| The 'Get Real Food' Show All of our KS3 students attended the ‘Get Real Food Show' in September, where they learnt the grim truth behind what really goes into making convenience and fast foods. |
| 'BBC Blast!' At Grimsby Institute of Further and Higher Education In September some lucky students attended three exciting workshops at Grimsby Institute of Further and Higher Education , organised by the BBC. |
| Anti Cyber Bullying Campaign Year 8 students had the opportunity to enter a competition organised by NE Lincs Council's Anti Bullying Team, lead by Val Puncher, to create a slogan to help combat Cyber Bullying. |
| Safety Awareness During their Core Studies lessons, year 8 have had two visits from external organisations regarding Road and Fire Safety. |

| Find Your Way Residential University of York 22nd & 23rd April Twelve of our Gifted and Talented Year 10 students participated in an overnight residential experience at The University of York St John as part of the ‘Find Your Way’ Excellence Hub Project. |
| Humberside Police Lifestyle PCSO Mike Eckley held special assemblies for Year 7 and Year 8 students to outline the objectives of the project – and of course the prizes on offer for the winning teams. |
| Comenius Student Games 1st - 5th May Our Comenius Partner schools and a number of their students visited us for five days at the beginning of May, where the main focus of the event was our Comenius Students Games, held in Whitgift’s Sports Hall. |

| Army RCL Visit Grimsby Docks 10th July 2009 Mr Carrington and Mr Mills, along with Grimsby Evening Telegraph Journalists Peter Craig and Jon Corken, accompanied sixteen Year 10 students aboard an Army RCL Boat (Ramped Craft Logistics) The two hour sessions included a tour of the vessel and the Engine Room, and the opportunity to work the fire hoses. |

| 3rd Annual College Sports Day Tuesday 14th July Our thirds Annual College Sports day was a great success, with all students participating in some great events such as Space Hopper and Running Backwards Races, Spin and Stagger and Pogo Challenges. |

| Year 8 Eco Challenge, Malham, North Yorkshire Friday 13th - Monday 16th March 2009 Miss Thomas, Mr Steeper and Miss Daly accompanied thirty Year 8 students to Malham Tarn Field Centre, in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. |

| Year 10 Comenius Students Visit Ettenheim, Germany Comenius Update: Year 10 Comenius Students Visit Ettenheim, Germany for International Student Conference Twelve year 10 students, accompanied by Miss Glaves and Mr Carrington visited our partner school in Ettenheim, Germany from 31st March - 3rd April to participate in the year 2 Comenius International Student Conference, along with students from our partner schools in Italy and Norway. |
